Jaap Heijboer (Dutch) is a business lawyer and former senior executive at Royal Philips, where he has held various leadership positions within its law department, as general counsel of Philips’ consumer products division, and as part of the in-house M&A support group. Next to his broad experience in business/corporate legal matters he has a special focus on M&A. He was as lead counsel engaged in a large number of small-to large size M&A and capital markets transactions including large public takeovers in the USA, IPO’s, complex carve-out divestments and joint ventures, almost exclusively in an international context. As member of international management teams he gained hands-on experience in various business processes and strategic decision-making.
Leo van Alphen
Expertise:
L.G.(Leo) van Alphen (Dutch) was, until his retirement, senior vice president of Corporate Investment of Philips International B.V., Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Most of his time, since 2000, he was dedicated to the divestment of non-core Philips business like in the past Display Components, Monitors, Mobile Display Components, TV activities, Lifestyle Entertainment etc. and recently he supports in a few distinct areas the transformation of Philips into two companies.
He received a master degree in material science at the University of Twente, the Netherlands, where he also worked as a research assistant. He joined Philips in 1977 where he served as an engineer in the silicon materials department, as process engineer and as operations manager of the CMOS-IC factory in Nijmegen (now NXP). From 1985 until 1988 he was the general manager of the project FAB87 to establish a new "submicron" waferfab in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, served as chief operating officer of the Philips LCD activities and as management member of the business unit Display Components (responsible for key CRT components), before obtaining his position at Corporate Investments.
